The Lakewood Alumni Foundation supports three distinct halls of fame honoring graduates and staff of the Lakewood City Schools.
The Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame (est. 1986) honors graduates for their personal and professional achievements. The Staff Hall of Fame (est. 1991) honors staff members for their contributions to the Lakewood City School District. The Athletic Hall of Fame (est. 1987) honors student athletes and coaches for their accomplishments in sports.
The Lakewood Alumni Foundation Board of Trustees appoints a Hall of Fame Steering Committee comprised of Foundation Trustees and including members of the Halls of Fame. A subcommittee is formed for each Hall of Fame, chaired by a LAF Trustee and comprised of both alumni and current or former Lakewood City Schools’ staff members. Each subcommittee may advance the names of 5-7 finalists. The Steering Committee will make the final selection and as many as nine individuals are inducted to the Halls in a combined ceremony held in the fall.
